UPDATE FEB 2024: With all the "Myopic Remaster Final 3" and "Myopic Remaster Final 4" tracks littering my computer, I managed to upload the wrong one initially and did not notice for a solid 5 months. It's fixed as of Feb 3 2024.
There was a time when I thought this song would be an international success.
It wasn’t.
I can see why now, but back in 2007 I was convinced that what the world was waiting for was loud guitars and 4 part harmonies produced in some dirtbag’s bedroom on a Dell Home Computer.
“Myopic” was written directly after I finished and released This Faustian Flesh. It was supposed to both herald a new era of All Hallow’s Evil and justify the purchase of the PODXt Live I decided to throw onto my pile of credit card debt. I was trying to make a new genre called ProgPopMetal and well, you see where that got me.
I think it’s a really good song, but the final version didn’t quite live up to it’s potential. I could easily blame the equipment or the free pitch correction plugin I used that had that old Dell screaming for mercy on those harmonies or even my grandfather, who sat at the table “producing” while I recorded in his kitchen because I lost my apartment. In the final analysis though, it all comes down to me not being quite as talented as I needed to be at the time.
Which brings us to the present.
Where once a full Dell desktop buckled under the weight of the 20 or so vocal tracks that make up the chorus, my MacBook handled the entire project without even turning the fans on. Throw that in with 15 years of practice and I'm not sure I got it right, but I got it different. I may no longer think this song is my ticket out of here, but it was fun to visit that guy for a while.

lyrics
It's all a matter of circumstance
You'll understand when the morning comes
It doesn't hurt you if you think it can't
You'll understand when the moment's done
That it's not about the "who fucked who"
When it's plain to see that I fucked you
But now the moment's passed, so away I go
Close your eyes and you'll never know
How deep the cut, how wide the scar
That you're a little more lost than you think you are
But you can't have it all and you still have you health
Just keep telling yourself that...
It doesn't hurt, doesn't hurt, doesn't hurt...
Say it just like it's true
Everyone will believe it, but can you?
If I go, how far would you follow?
And if I let you, how far would you lead?
Do you feel deep down that there is no tomorrow?
Or is a promise all that you need?
Then don't listen if it's ringing hollow
If you don't want to look then close your eyes
'Cause you don't have to believe, you just have to swallow
You'd be surprised what naivete buys
So now the game's in play
and the ornament of setting just falls away...
But now you've figured it out so you know what it means
and you disregard the things you've seen
Because where this may lead
What this may be
Just can't break like reality
Can you believe it?
If I go, how far would you follow?
And if I let you, how far would you lead?
Do you feel deep down that there is no tomorrow?
Or is a promise all that you need?
Then don't listen if it's ringing hollow
If you don't want to look then close your eyes '
Cause you don't have to believe, you just have to swallow
You'd be surprised what naivete buys
All Hallow's Evil embodies the synthesis of medication and man, as the man behind All Hallow's Evil is mostly medication. Rumors say that Jay Gironimi has actually been dead for 5 years and this is just gas escaping the body.
